IB Biology Lab Bank

Aims of this project

This wikispace has been developed for IB Biology teachers to help:
  • Develop a scheme of work to support inquiry in the 4PSOW
  • Develop ideas for investigations suitable for internal assessment
  • Meet requirements for ICT use in the IB Biology programme
  • Develop resources in schools that may have limited budgets or technology
  • Give support to teachers new to the IB Biology course

Joining In

All resources that have been added to this wiki can be viewed without logging in.

If you are willing to take part and add your own ideas:
Log on the OCC and send Stephen Taylor a private message via the forums facility.
Include your email address so you can be sent an email with an invitation to join.
This way, membership is restricted to IB Biology teachers only.
Please don't request membership via this space, as there is no way of knowing who you really are.

Please take part!

If each of our over 400 (!) members added just one idea over the next couple of weeks, we'd have a greater wealth of resources to help teachers across the PSOW. Please join in.

Have a look at this TED Talk from TED Global 2010: How cognitive surplus will change the world.

Subject Reports

Be sure to read these as they are published on the OCC.
There is always good advice to be found in those reports for teachers and students.

IB Animal Experimentation Policy

All Group 4 teachers must pay attention to this document, which has been the subject of much discussion on the Biology forum on the OCC. Find out more about it on the Animal Experimentation page.
